Retirement Plan A – Work Longer – LOL

Are kidding me!
I saw this headline on MSN Money the other day. The article was talking about a survey given to US citizens about retirement. It went on to say.
- 40% of those surveyed said they intend to work longer and retire later as a result of the recession.
- 39% plan on retiring after the age of 70 or not at all. (Really! This is staggering!).
- 54% plan on working even after they retire because of financial necessity.
- 70% said even if they worked full time until age 65 they would not have enough money to retire.
- 60% of these people make over 100k a year.
The bottom line is, we as a society are getting further away from retirement.
How do you compare to these stats?
Are you going to be working well into your 70′s?
Is your life going where you expected it to go?
Are you really going to be satisfied working where you are now for the rest of your life?
Collecting a 3% or 4% raise each year?
If you do this, will you be able to retire at 65 or will you be broke?
Are you living the life you have always dreamed about?
If you are, good for you, I would like to congratulate you.
But please keep reading, because you are not out of the water yet!
If you’re not, it’s seriously time you to look for a plan B.
Plan B does not mean stop what you are doing and do something new.
Plan B means find something extra to supplement your income working a few hours a week.
…..And No! Buying a lottery ticket every week is not a Plan B.
Here is something very important to remember.
” If you keep doing the same things you have always done
you will continue to get what you have always gotten.”
So if you don’t like your life as it is now or where it will be at retirement the only way to fix this is to do something different.
Instead of using every minute of free time on Facebook playing Farmville, Watching TV, ETC
Find something productive to do with that time, that will actually make a difference in your life.
Get your own Plan B.
Who really cares:
- How many cows you have in Farmville?
- Who wins So You Think You Can Dance?
- What everyone else is doing?
- What happened on CSI Miami
Does any of this stuff make your life better in any way?
This is a wake-up call for everyone, many times in life we are not uncomfortable enough to make any changes.
We as humans have a strong need to feel comfortable, it’s easy to overlook the obvious just so we don’t have to deal with it.
It’s easy to keep doing the same things over and over, because changing the routine is uncomfortable.
Guess what? This change is needed now more than ever!
More than 90% of us are not happy with ourĀ financial situation.
Everyone would like more time and money to enjoy a better quality of life.
Yet most of us will sit back even after reading this and do absolutely nothing about it.
I have news for you, none of us are getting any younger, and unless you have some rich uncle you don’t know about.
The life you create for yourself is the only one you will get.
Life is too short to settle.
Are you ready for more bad news?
Your job and your retirement are not safe. PERIOD!
I don’t care who you work for or what you do, you are at their mercy.
You never know what may come up which will causes your job and retirement to disappear.
This just happened to millions of people over the last 2 years.
We all need a Plan B
What works for me may not work for you and that’s ok.
But I urge you to take this message seriously and find a Plan B that is right for you.
If you would like to learn more about my plan B and see if it is right for you I encourage you to watch this 6 minute video.
Let me know what I can do to help you.
